This photo was
taken from the USS Kitty Hawk in May or June
of 1966, in Yokosuka. At the time it was a "mystery boat" and was
identified recently by Jim Christly as Snook. Were you on board then?

This photo was
taken
through the periscope of Snook on the afternoon of 17 October, 1968. A
MK 14-5 torpedo hits ex-USS Archerfish (AGSS-311) amidships, sinking
the
target in 52 seconds. If you have other pictures of this event or have
some good stories to share about this "target practice", send them to
the
webmaster at kb5rex@gmail.com.
